Sport: Pickleball
For the last 4 years, Stephen has built up an online community of over 150,000 followers through his gaming content under the online brand “LadToDad”. However, as of August 2024, he decided to switch from gaming to a more active hobby which he could put his competitiveness towards. This was when he discovered the sport of Pickleball. It's safe to say he became addicted.
After quickly picking up the sport and realising he had some potential, he decided to test his luck in his first major tournament in November 2024, the English Nationals held at Bolton Arena. After only playing the sport for a matter of months, Stephen and his partner were able to walk away with a silver medal – a fantastic achievement.
Since then, Stephen has been up and down the country competing in various tournaments both locally and nationally. More recently he took gold in both the men’s and mixed doubles pickleball tournaments, at the John Charles Centre in Leeds. Silver in the men’s doubles, and gold in the mixed doubles at the Franklin Telford Pickleball Open.
On top of this, Stephen has also kickstarted his very own competitive club “Edlington Pickleball Club” based in Doncaster. Urbanfield Sports is thrilled to be the kit supplier.
The next steps for Stephen are to continue learning the sport of Pickleball and step up to the higher levels over the course of the year representing Urbanfield Sports along the way.
